The Push Up Challenge, 5-27 Feb 2026

No one fights alone. Push up for your mates.

How it works

The aim: 2,000 push-ups between 5-27 February. Don't worry if you aren’t a push-up pro. Try sit-ups, squats, lunges – whatever works for you.

The goal: to build awareness of the importance of mental health encourage us all to look out for one another, especially when things get tough.

How to get involved

1. Sign up via the official website

You’ll be prompted to select a community. Choose whether you'd like to be part of the Navy, Army, Air or wider NZDF community.

You can then join an existing team, or create your own team with friends, colleagues, or your unit.

Each day the Mental Health Foundation will send you a daily target to help you hit 2,000 reps in 23 days (rest days included).

2. Join in during PT

Turn up to PT as often as you can during the month of February and knock out those reps together!

3. Learn, connect, and start conversations

This campaign is about improving physical and mental health. Explore the resources, start meaningful conversations, share a message – or photo – on social media, and fundraise to support mental health across Aotearoa.
