Deployment Services Officers (DSOs)

The Deployment Services Officers provide support and welfare services to deployed people and their families.

Their expertise is in the nature of deployments, and in troubleshooting the many and varied welfare situations that can arise when a family member is deployed.

They have a daily working relationship with the chain of command and Headquarters Joint Force New Zealand (who manage the deployments), and can often provide answers to your deployment related questions immediately.

If you have any questions related to the deployment of your loved one, or situations that may be affecting you while they are away, the DSOs should be your first port of call.

Social Workers

Our NZDF Social Workers support and advise NZDF members (civilian and uniformed) and their whānau/families to enable their wellness and operational readiness. Our NZDF Social Workers are registered health professionals who work alongside other NZDF health professionals and have strong networks with community social services.
