New to the NZDF?

As a recruit, this is a great time to build healthy habits for your career ahead. This site can help you understand things like fitness testinghow medical gradings work, eating well, managing stress, and getting good sleep. It has tips on staying connected with others, looking after your mental health, and much more.

Make sure to check out the Tangata Whaiora Health Services Handbook a user-friendly guide to the support Defence Health provider throughout your career. You'll receive a personal copy during recruit initial training. You can also view and download an electronic version here, for easy access whenever you need it.
