Christmas Hours for
Trentham and Wellington Defence Health Centres

1. The Wellington Defence Health Centre and Trentham Camp Defence Health Centre will be closed from midday Friday 22 Dec 23, and will re-open on Monday 8 Jan 24.
2. Prescriptions. Requests for repeat prescriptions are to be forwarded by 15 Dec 23 in order to allow for processing by clinical and admin staff. Please email your prescription requests to medicaltrentham@nzdf.mil.nz (if you receive your health care in Trentham) or wellingtonmedical@nzdf.mil.nz (if you receive your health care in Wellington) with the following information:
   1. Service number
   2. Full name and rank
   3. Date of birth
   4. Name of medication required
3. Accessing healthcare during the closedown period – Personnel can access healthcare during this period via the following:
   1. Accident and medical emergencies:  Dial 111 for an ambulance or attend your nearest Emergency Dept.
   2. Non-urgent medical advice: Phone Health line on 0800 611 116.
   3. Acute illness or injury requiring urgent attention: Access after-hours medical services at an After Hours Health Centre nearest your home location or via the following:
      1. After Hours Medical Centre, 729 High St, Lower Hutt. Tel: 04 567 5345.
      2. Accident and Urgent Medical Centre Wellington 17 Adelaide Street, Newtown. Tel: 04 384 4944.
      3. Payment at the After-hours Medical Centres will be required at the time you are seen and can be claimed for reimbursement at your local Defence Health Centre. Full receipts for the after-hours appointment and any prescription charges as well as copies of the notes for your health records are required to support your MD990 claim.
