Casualty Support
When the worst happens to one of our members, such as serious injury, a life limiting diagnosis, or death, the NZDF has a specially trained team ready to offer help and support to their families.

Casualty Liaison Officers
In the event of a death or a life-limiting diagnosis being made regarding an NZDF member, the NZDF Casualty Support Manager ensures that trained Casualty Liasion Officers (CLO's) are ready to assist the family and next of kin to manage all the things that need to happen following such an incident.
CLO's provide practical support by:
- Being the main link between the family and the NZDF
- Working alongside the family at the family's pace
- Accessing relevant resources and additional support
- And where needed, assisting with signposting to grief counsellors, financial/legal advice and other services.
